Dry Ingredients:

1 cup buttermilk

1 tsp white vinegar

1 tsp black gel food coloring

Instructions

Preheat Oven:
Preheat to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 8-inch cake pans with parchment paper. -
Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. -
Mix Wet Ingredients:
In another bowl, combine buttermilk, vinegar, black food coloring, granulated sugar, brown sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth. -
Combine & Bake:
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined. Divide batter evenly between prepared pans. -
Bake:
Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
