These butter jam cookies are the perfect balance of buttery richness and fruity sweetness. With their soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture and a center filled with your favorite jam, they’re an easy, elegant treat for tea time or holiday baking.
Ingredients

Unsalted butter – 1 cup (225g / 7.9oz), softened

Powdered sugar – 1/2 cup (100g / 3.5oz)

Egg – 1 large, room temperature

Pure vanilla extract – 1 tsp

All-purpose flour – 1 3/4 cups (220g / 7.8oz), sifted

Salt – 1/4 tsp

Milk or heavy cream – 1/4 cup (60ml)

Jam – 1/2 cup (your favorite flavor: strawberry, raspberry, apricot, etc.)
Instructions

Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.

Gradually mix in the sifted flour and salt, then add milk or cream to form a soft, pliable dough.

Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on the prepared baking sheet.

Use your thumb or the back of a spoon to create an indentation in the center of each cookie.

Fill each indentation with about 1/2 teaspoon of your chosen jam.

Bake for 12–15 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.

Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

You can use any jam flavor, or mix a few for a colorful batch.
