Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Chicken:

  • 1.5 lbs chicken breast, cut into thick strips
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan, grated
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh herbs such as parsley or thyme

For the Pasta:

  • 12 oz bowtie (farfalle) pasta
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1.5 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup mozzarella, shredded
  • 1/2 cup cheddar, shredded
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan, grated
  • 1.5 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the bowtie pasta until tender with a slight bite. Reserve about 1 cup of the pasta water before draining, then set the pasta aside.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Season the chicken strips with Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper so they are evenly coated. Melt butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken for about 4 to 5 minutes per side until golden brown. Add garlic and Parmesan in the last minute. Remove the chicken and set aside.
  3. Prepare the Sauce: In the same pan, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant. Pour in heavy cream and Cajun seasoning. Simmer until slightly thickened. Add mozzarella, cheddar, and Parmesan, stirring until melted and creamy.
  4. Combine and Serve: Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat. If needed, add a splash of pasta water to adjust the consistency. Serve the creamy pasta with the Cajun chicken strips.
