Description

Hearty Salisbury steak smothered in rich, creamy mushroom gravy is the ultimate comfort food dinner. Served with mashed potatoes or rice, this homemade classic is full of flavor.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs

  • 1 egg

  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped

  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • 2 tbsp butter

 

  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced


Instructions

  • Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, Worcestershire, salt & pepper. Form into patties.

  • Sear patties in a skillet until browned. Remove and set aside.

  • In the same skillet, add butter and sauté mushrooms.

  • Stir in flour and cook 1 minute. Add beef broth, bring to simmer, then mix in cream.

 

  • Return steaks to pan. Simmer for 10-15 mins until cooked through and gravy thickens.

Notes

  • Great with mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or rice.
