Keywords: chocolate fudge cake, brownie cake recipe, layered chocolate cake, chocolate ganache dessert, rich chocolate cake

Ingredients

For the Brownie Cake:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter

  • 2 cups granulated sugar

  • 4 large eggs

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)

For the Ganache Topping:

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped

Instructions

  • Prepare the Brownie Cake:

    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.

    • Melt butter in a saucepan, remove from heat, and stir in sugar.

    • Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.

    • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa, salt, and baking powder.

    • Gradually stir dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Fold in chocolate chips.

    • Pour into prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes, until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs. Cool completely.

  • Make the Ganache Topping:

    • Heat cream in a saucepan until it just begins to simmer.

    • Pour hot cream over chopped chocolate in a bowl. Let sit 2–3 minutes, then stir until smooth.

  • Assemble the Cake:

    • Once the brownie layer has cooled, pour ganache over the top and spread evenly.

    • Let set at room temperature or chill slightly for a firmer ganache layer.

Notes

  • Add a pinch of espresso powder to enhance chocolate flavor.

  • For clean slices, dip your knife in hot water and wipe between cuts.

  • Top with berries or whipped cream for extra flair.
