  • 6 tablespoons ice water

For the Filling

  • 1 lb ground beef or lamb
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  • Make Dough: Mix flour, butter, and salt until crumbly. Add water and knead into a dough. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  • Cook Filling: Brown beef with onions and garlic. Add seasonings, broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer until thick.
  • Assemble Pie: Roll out dough, place in a pie pan, fill with meat mixture, and cover with another layer of dough.
  • Bake: Brush with egg wash and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 40-45 minutes.
