Description

An easy, individual take on the classic Italian dessert, featuring layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and mascarpone cream.


Ingredients

For the Mascarpone Cream:

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz mascarpone cheese
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Coffee Layer:

  • 1 cup brewed espresso or strong coffee, cooled
  • 2 tbsp coffee liqueur (optional)

For Assembly:

  • 12 ladyfingers, cut in half
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • Chocolate shavings for garnish

Instructions

  • Make the Mascarpone Cream:

    • Beat heavy cream until soft peaks form.
    • In another bowl, mix mascarpone, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
    • Fold whipped cream into mascarpone mixture.
  • Prepare the Coffee Layer:

    • Mix espresso and liqueur (if using).
  • Assemble:

    • Dip ladyfingers in coffee and layer in cups.
    • Spoon mascarpone cream over them. Repeat layers.
    • Dust with cocoa powder and top with chocolate shavings.
  • Chill & Serve:

    • Refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.

Notes

  • Substitute ladyfingers with sponge cake if needed.
  • Use decaf coffee for a caffeine-free version.
