  • 1 lb (450 g) shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

For the Pasta

  • 8 oz (225 g) pasta (linguine or fettuccine)

For the Sauce

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/4 cup pasta water
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Garnish

  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Extra parmesan for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Cook pasta according to package instructions. Reserve ¼ cup pasta water, then drain.
  2. Sear the Shrimp: Heat butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds. Add shrimp, salt, and black pepper, and cook for 1–2 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
  3. Make the Sauce: Pour in heavy cream and simmer for 2–3 minutes. Stir in parmesan cheese and pasta water until smooth and creamy.
  4. Combine and Garnish: Add cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat. Return shrimp to the skillet and mix gently. Finish with lemon juice, fresh parsley, and extra parmesan. Serve warm.
