Description

These crispy cheese and potato pancakes are golden brown, crunchy, and packed with flavor. Made with simple ingredients, they’re perfect as a side dish, appetizer, or a satisfying snack. Serve with sour cream or your favorite dipping sauce!


Ingredients

  • 2 large potatoes, peeled and grated
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional)

 

  • 2 tbsp butter or oil for frying

Instructions

  • Squeeze excess moisture from the grated potatoes using a clean kitchen towel.
  • In a bowl, mix potatoes, cheese, egg, flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Heat butter or oil in a pan over medium heat.
  • Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the pan, flattening slightly.
  • Cook for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.

 

  • Drain on paper towels and serve warm with sour cream or dipping sauce.

  • Use a cheese that melts well for extra crispiness.
  • To make it gluten-free, substitute flour with cornstarch.
