Description

Crispy Country Fried Pork Chops are golden, juicy, and packed with Southern flavor. Coated in seasoned flour, pan-fried to perfection, and served with rich homemade gravy, these chops are the ultimate comfort food for any cozy dinner table.


Ingredients

Pork Chops:

  • 4 bone-in pork chops (1/2 inch thick)

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

  • 1/2 cup buttermilk (or regular milk)

  • 1 large egg

  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Gravy (optional):

  • 2 tbsp pan drippings or butter

  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour

  • 1 1/2 cups milk

  • Salt and pepper, to taste


Instructions

  • Prep Coating: In one bowl, whisk egg and buttermilk. In another, mix flour with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.

  • Dredge Pork Chops: Dip each pork chop into the egg mixture, then dredge in seasoned flour, pressing to adhere.

  • Fry: Heat 1/2 inch of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry pork chops 4–5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and internal temp reaches 145°F (63°C). Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.

  • Make Gravy: Pour off most of the oil, keeping 2 tbsp in pan. Stir in 2 tbsp flour and cook 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk. Cook until thickened, about 3–5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, double-dip in egg and flour mixture.

  • Let coated chops rest 5 minutes before frying for better crust.

  • Gravy can be made with broth instead of milk for a different flavo
