Description

Crispy Layered Potato Bites are thinly sliced and stacked potatoes baked until golden and crunchy on the outside with a soft, buttery center—perfect for sides or appetizers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes
  • 3 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme or rosemary (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a muffin tin or use parchment strips for easy removal.
  2. Thinly slice potatoes using a mandoline and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the potato slices with melted butter, olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and herbs if using.
  4. Stack the slices neatly into each muffin tin well, pressing down lightly to compact them.
  5. Bake for 40–45 minutes until the edges are golden brown and crispy.
  6. Let cool slightly before removing from the tin. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Use a mandoline for evenly thin slices.
  • Pat potatoes dry to promote crispiness.
  • Spoon leftover butter/oil on top mid-bake for added richness.
  • Add cheese between layers for a heartier version.
  • Use parchment strips under stacks for easy removal from muffin tin.
