For the Cookies:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chunks
- 1/2 cup milk chocolate chunks
- 1/2 cup freeze-dried strawberries, crushed
For Garnish:
- Extra freeze-dried strawberries
- Extra chocolate chunks
- Sea salt flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat & Prepare: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Cream Butter & Sugar: In another bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla, then mix well.
- Combine & Fold: Gradually mix in dry ingredients until combined. Fold in chocolate chunks and crushed freeze-dried strawberries.
- Shape & Bake: Scoop cookie dough onto the baking sheet and gently flatten. Top with extra chocolate and strawberries. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
- Cool & Enjoy: Let cookies cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- For an extra gooey texture, underbake slightly and let them finish setting on the tray.
