Description

Easy Garbage Bread is the ultimate stuffed comfort food, packed with seasoned ground beef, crispy bacon, gooey cheese, and tangy pickles, all wrapped in golden, buttery French bread dough. This cheesy, meaty spiral is perfect for game days, parties, or indulgent family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1/2 cup diced onion

  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

  • 1/2 cup chopped pickles

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 tube refrigerated French bread dough

  • 1 tbsp melted butter (for brushing)

  • Optional: sesame seeds for topping

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • Cook Beef Mixture: In a skillet, cook ground beef and diced onion until browned. Drain excess fat. Stir in garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat.

  • Combine Fillings: Mix in crumbled bacon, pickles, and shredded cheddar cheese.

  • Roll Dough: On a floured surface, roll out the French bread dough into a rectangle. Spread beef mixture evenly over dough, leaving a border.

  • Roll & Seal: Roll dough up jelly-roll style, pinch edges to seal, and place seam-side down on prepared sheet.

  • Bake: Brush top with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds if using. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown.

  • Cool & Slice: Let cool slightly, then slice into spirals and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use pizza dough for a softer texture.

  • Swap cheddar with mozzarella or pepper jack for a kick.

  • Serve with dipping sauces like ranch, ketchup, or burger sauce.
