  • 1 1/2 lbs (680 g) boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder

For the Garlic Butter Honey BBQ Sauce:

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

For Assembly:

  • 8 small flour or corn tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce or cabbage
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onion
  • Fresh cilantro
  • Lime wedges

Instructions

  1. Season chicken: Season chicken with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and chili powder.
  2. Cook chicken: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken 5–7 minutes per side until fully cooked and lightly charred. Remove and slice.
  3. Prepare sauce: In the same pan, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds. Stir in BBQ sauce, honey, lime juice, and red pepper flakes. Simmer 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Coat chicken: Return sliced chicken to the pan and toss until coated in the garlic butter honey BBQ sauce.
  5. Assemble tacos: Warm tortillas. Fill with saucy chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, and cilantro. Serve with lime wedges.
