Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak, sirloin, or ribeye, thinly sliced against the grain

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, divided

  • 6 oz fresh or dried ramen or spaghetti noodles

  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger

  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional but recommended)

  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch

  • 3 tablespoons beef broth or water

  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  • Marinate Steak: Mix steak with soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Let sit for 15–20 minutes.

  • Cook Noodles: Boil noodles per package instructions. Drain and reserve some pasta water.

  • Sear Steak: Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in skillet. Cook steak for 3–4 minutes until browned. Set aside.

  • Make Sauce Base: In same skillet, add remaining oil and butter. Sauté garlic and ginger for 1–2 minutes.

  • Simmer Sauce: Add hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey or brown sugar, and beef broth. Simmer 2–3 minutes.

  • Combine: Toss noodles in sauce until well coated. Add steak and mix evenly. Thin sauce with reserved water if needed.

  • Serve: Garnish with red pepper flakes if desired. Serve hot!

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the steak longer (up to 1 hour).

  • Swap out beef for chicken or tofu if preferred.

  • Great with steamed veggies or a side of pickled cucumbers.
