Greek Beef:
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (80/20 for best flavor)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Cucumber Feta Sauce:
- 3/4 cup Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup grated cucumber (excess moisture squeezed out)
- 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh dill (optional)
- Freshly cracked black pepper
For Assembly:
- 4 pita breads or flatbreads
- 1 cup shredded romaine lettuce
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onion
- Extra feta for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Greek Beef: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it apart.
- Cucumber Feta Sauce: In a bowl, mix Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, feta, lemon juice, olive oil, dill, and black pepper until creamy.
- For Assembly: Warm pita breads slightly. Spread cucumber feta sauce over each wrap, add seasoned beef, lettuce, tomatoes, and red onion. Fold tightly and serve warm.
Stir in garlic, oregano, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until beef is browned and fully cooked.
Finish with lemon juice and remove from heat.
