Ingredients

1/2 cup cold butter, cubed

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup buttermilk

1/2 cup butter (melted, for “swim”)

1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)

1/2 tsp dried parsley (optional)
Instructions

Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.

In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.

Stir in shredded cheese and diced ham. Add buttermilk and mix just until combined.

Spread the dough evenly into the prepared pan.

Combine melted butter with garlic powder and parsley if using, and pour evenly over the top.
