Description

This Honey Chili Shrimp recipe features succulent shrimp coated in a sticky glaze made with honey, soy sauce, and chili flakes, garnished with fresh herbs and sesame seeds. It’s a quick and flavorful dish that’s perfect for a delicious weeknight dinner.


Ingredients

For the Shrimp

  • 1 lb (450 g) shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

For the Sauce

  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp chili flakes
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar

Garnish

  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp, salt, and black pepper and cook for 1–2 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same pan, add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds. Add honey, soy sauce, chili flakes, and rice vinegar. Simmer for 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened.
  3. Return shrimp to the pan and toss to coat in the sticky glaze.
  4. Garnish with fresh herbs and sesame seeds.
  5. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Make sure not to overcook the shrimp to keep them tender.
  • Adjust the spice level by increasing or decreasing the amount of chili flakes.
