Description

These Mediterranean Ground Beef Pita Wraps are a flavorful and satisfying meal option that combines spiced ground beef with fresh veggies, feta cheese, and a tangy yogurt sauce, all wrapped in warm pita bread.

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Ground Beef

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon (optional for warmth)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

For the Wraps

  • 4 pita breads, warmed
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/2 cucumber, diced
  • 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/3 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • Optional Sauce

    • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
    • 1 tsp lemon juice
    • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Cook the Ground Beef – Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and garlic, sauté until fragrant. Add ground beef, season with oregano, cumin, paprika, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Cook 6–8 minutes, breaking up meat, until fully browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat if needed.
  2. Prepare Optional Yogurt Sauce – In a small bowl, mix Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and garlic powder until smooth.
  3. Assemble the Pita Wraps – Spread a layer of yogurt sauce inside each warm pita (if using). Fill with cooked ground beef, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, and crumbled feta. Sprinkle with fresh parsley.
  4. Serve – Fold pita wraps and serve immediately as a hearty Mediterranean meal.
