Instructions
-
Make the Donut Dough:
In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy. Add melted butter, egg, and vanilla. Mix in flour and salt, kneading until dough is smooth. Cover and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled. -
Shape and Fry the Donuts:
Roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thickness. Cut into donut shapes. Let rest for 20–30 minutes. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C). Fry donuts until golden brown on each side. Drain on paper towels. -
Prepare the Cheesecake Filling:
Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Fold in crushed Oreos. -
Assemble the Donut Burgers:
Slice donuts in half. Pipe or spoon cheesecake filling on the bottom half, optionally placing a whole Oreo in the center. Top with the other donut half. -
Glaze & Decorate:
Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over donut burgers and sprinkle with crushed Oreos.
Notes
-
Donuts can be baked instead of fried for a slightly lighter version.
-
Make sure the donuts are completely cool before assembling to prevent the cheesecake filling from melting.
-
For added decadence, chill before serving to set the filling.
