Description

Peach Butter Swim Biscuits are a sweet twist on the classic Southern biscuit. These tender, buttery biscuits “swim” in melted butter while baking, creating golden edges and a moist center bursting with juicy peaches. Finished with a simple vanilla glaze, they’re perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a fruity dessert.

Ingredients

For the Biscuits:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 1/2 cups canned or fresh diced peaches (drained if using canned)

  • 1/4 cup peach juice or syrup (from canned peaches or fresh puree)

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 1-2 tablespoons milk

  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C). Pour melted butter into a 9×9-inch baking dish.

  • In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Stir in buttermilk and peach juice until just combined. Fold in diced peaches.

  • Pour the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish. Do not stir.

  • Bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden brown on top and edges are set.

  • Let cool slightly. Mix glaze ingredients and drizzle over warm biscuits.

  • Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Use very ripe fresh peaches for maximum flavor, or canned for convenience.

  • Adjust glaze thickness by varying milk quantity.

  • Store leftovers covered at room temp for up to 2 days.
