Description

This Sausage, Gravy, and Biscuit Pie is a comforting twist on a Southern classic, combining creamy sausage gravy with fluffy biscuit pieces and a golden, cheesy top. It’s the ultimate breakfast-for-dinner or weekend brunch treat. Keywords: sausage gravy biscuit pie, Southern breakfast pie, biscuit and gravy bake, easy breakfast casserole.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb breakfast sausage

  • 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 cups milk

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a pie dish.

  • Cook the Sausage:
In a skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease.

  • Make the Gravy:
Stir in flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Gradually whisk in milk. Cook and stir until thickened, about 5 minutes.

  • Assemble the Pie:
Cut biscuit dough into smaller pieces and arrange in the bottom of the pie dish. Pour sausage gravy over the top. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese, if using.

  • Bake:
Bake for 20–25 minutes or until the biscuits are golden and fully cooked through.

  • Serve:
Let cool slightly before serving. Best enjoyed warm.

Notes

  • Add a pinch of cayenne or red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.

  • Use homemade biscuits if preferred.

  • Great as leftovers reheated the next day.
