Description

This Spicy Burrata Pita with Chili Honey & Arugula is a bold and flavorful appetizer or light meal. Creamy burrata, peppery arugula, and sweet-spicy chili honey come together on crispy warm pita for a satisfying bite bursting with texture and contrast. Ready in minutes, this elegant dish is perfect for entertaining or a gourmet snack.

Ingredients

  • 2 pita breads, lightly toasted

  • 1 ball burrata cheese

  • 1 cup fresh arugula

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tbsp chili honey (or regular honey + chili flakes)

  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for extra heat)

  • Salt & black pepper, to taste

  • Optional: lemon zest or balsamic glaze for garnish

Instructions

  • Toast the Pita:
Warm pita breads in a skillet or oven until lightly golden and crisp on the edges.

  • Prepare the Arugula:
In a small bowl, toss arugula with olive oil, salt, and pepper to taste.

  • Assemble the Pita:
Place a handful of arugula on each warm pita. Tear the burrata and place it over the arugula.

  • Finish with Heat:
Drizzle chili honey over the top. Sprinkle red pepper flakes for more heat if desired. Garnish with lemon zest or a drizzle of balsamic glaze for brightness.

  • Serve:
Slice into wedges and serve immediately while warm.

Notes

  • Use naan or flatbread as an alternative to pita.

  • For a milder version, use plain honey without chili.

  • Burrata is best served at room temperature for maximum creaminess.
