Description

These Sticky Brown Sugar Pineapple Glazed Chicken Wings are the perfect sweet and savory appetizer or party snack. Baked until crispy and coated in a rich pineapple brown sugar glaze, these wings are irresistibly sticky, flavorful, and easy to make at home.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken wings, split and tips removed

  • 1 cup pineapple juice

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp ketchup

  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger

  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional, for heat)

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

  • 1 tbsp water

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Green onions, sliced, for garnish

  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and set a wire rack on top. Spray the rack with nonstick spray.

  • Season chicken wings with salt and pepper. Arrange wings in a single layer on the rack.

  • Bake for 40–45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.

  • Meanwhile, in a saucepan over medium heat, combine pineapple juice, brown sugar, soy sauce, ketchup, vinegar, garlic, ginger, and chili flakes.

  • Bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water. Whisk into sauce and simmer until thickened, about 5 minutes.

  • Transfer baked wings to a bowl. Pour glaze over wings and toss to coat evenly.

  • Return glazed wings to the rack. Bake for 10 more minutes to caramelize the glaze.

  • Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra heat, increase chili flakes or add sriracha to the glaze.

  • Glaze can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.

  • These wings pair perfectly with steamed rice or a fresh slaw.
