Description

Crispy shrimp coated in a sticky-sweet glaze, Sweet Glazed Shrimp Bites are quick, flavorful, and perfect as an appetizer or light main dish.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb medium or large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch or flour
  • 2 egg whites
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • 3 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water (slurry)

Instructions

  1. Pat shrimp dry and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Dip shrimp in egg whites, then coat with cornstarch or flour.
  3. Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Fry shrimp in batches until golden and crispy. Set aside on a paper towel or wire rack.
  4. In a saucepan, combine honey or brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, rice vinegar, and chili flakes. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  5. Add cornstarch slurry and stir until the sauce thickens.
  6. Toss fried shrimp in the glaze until well coated. Serve immediately, garnished with green onions or sesame seeds if desired.
