Description

This Mediterranean Ground Turkey Flatbread with Spicy Lemon Honey Feta Cream recipe combines flavorful ground turkey with a tangy and creamy feta topping on warm flatbreads, topped with fresh veggies.

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Ground Turkey:

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

For the Spicy Lemon Honey Feta Cream:

  • 3/4 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 1 small garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped

For the Flatbreads:

  • 4 flatbreads or naan
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/2 cucumber, diced
  • 1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup crumbled feta (optional topping)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the ground turkey: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  2. Brown the turkey: Add ground turkey and cook for 6–8 minutes, breaking it apart with a spoon until fully cooked.
  3. Season the meat: Stir in paprika, oregano, cumin, chili flakes, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes so the spices coat the turkey evenly.
  4. Add lemon brightness: Stir in lemon juice and mix well. Remove from heat.
  5. Prepare the spicy feta cream: In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, feta cheese, honey, lemon juice, lemon zest, chili flakes, garlic, olive oil, and parsley. Mix until creamy.
  6. Warm the flatbreads: Heat the flatbreads in a dry skillet or oven for 1–2 minutes until warm and soft.
  7. Assemble the flatbreads: Spread a generous layer of spicy lemon honey feta cream over each flatbread. Add the seasoned ground turkey.
  8. Add fresh toppings: Top with shredded lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and red onion.
  9. Finish and serve: Sprinkle extra feta and fresh parsley on top. Slice if desired and serve immediately.
